Chris Leathers
Lead Pastor & Co-Founder
Chris Leathers a Co-founder, and Lead Pastor of Life Now Ministries. From a little boy, his mother kept him on the altar and his heart became intertwined with the fabric of the local church and serving God's people. Beginning as a humble musician, he found fulfillment and purpose in the background, content to serve wherever there was a need. Little did he know, the Lord had grander plans in store for him. Through His grace and guidance, he was gradually elevated into leadership roles, each step a testament to His faithfulness and provision. Along this journey, he was afforded opportunities to deepen his understanding of the word of God, completing coursework at institutions such as Bethel Bible Institute, New York Divinity School, and Church Answers University. Yet, above all titles and accolades, he stands as a servant of Christ, called to shepherd His flock with love and integrity. In this sacred calling, he finds his greatest joy and fulfillment. Beside him stands his beloved wife, Crystal Leathers, a beacon of strength and grace in his life. Together, they embrace the beauty of a blended family, blessed with a daughter, Kristen, and two sons, Austen and Ahmad. They are not only the treasures of our hearts but also precious gifts from above.

Our Story
During the COVID-19 Pandemic shutdown in 2020, we were sitting on our couch and while in prayer, the Lord revealed to Crystal and I that He had a work for us to do right in Central Islip, New York. As we drove around the neighborhood we called home and engaged people across the way from the local train station, we saw individuals in need of food, shelter and other forms of support. We saw individuals battling with addiction. And just think, only a few miles down the road, you can find the exact opposite.....seeing much abundance. Crystal and I were soon reminded of 2 Timothy 6,7 [AMP] which says,
"That is why i remind you to fan into flame the gracious gift of God, [that inner fire-the special endowment] which is in you through the laying on of my hands [with those elders at your ordination]. For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control]."
We’re compelled to do the
work of the Lord
right where we are.
As we journey together as a church family, may we be reminded that Life Now Ministries is more than just an organization; it is a living, breathing community knit together by our love for Christ and our commitment to His kingdom work. Let us walk hand in hand, supporting and encouraging one another as we strive to fulfill the purposes God has placed on our hearts. May the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all, now and forevermore.
